Antiragging
Ragging is a criminal offence as per Karnataka Educational Act 1983 and Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere ensures strict compliance on the prevention of Ragging in any form.
All students admitted to Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere and their parents are hereby informed to go through the guidelines on anti ragging:

It is mandatory for all the students and parents to submit an affidavit in the prescribed format duly attested by oath commissioner on the day of admission to the college office.
Please note that there are two affidavits � Annexure I to be submitted by the student and Annexure II to be submitted by the parent.
In addition to the above two affidavits, students should also submit a declaration on substance abuse on a plain A4 size paper.
Failing to comply with the above requirements will result in cancellation of admission.
Ban on Ragging:
"Ragging" means causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of a practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his person or exposes him to ridicule or to forbear from doing any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holding out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal offence. Supreme Court of India has defined ragging as a criminal offence.
Penalty for Ragging:
No person who is student of an educational institution shall commit ragging. Supreme Court of India has ordered that "If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explains is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the institution.
Warning:
No Leniency will be shown to the offenders involved in ragging. All students are requested to note and co-operate in keeping our college and its campus free from ragging. "Contact any teacher incase of emergency. Names of the teachers with photographs and telephone numbers are given in the college websites."
Policy on Substance Abuse:
Objective
To prevent substance abuse and to create a secure, conducive atmosphere for learning among the students on the campus, Antiragging committee of
Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere adheres to the following guidelines concerning the possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse:
Cannabis, Heroin, Benzodiazepines, barbiturates, Flunitrazepam, Cocaine, Ketamine, Psilocybin, Lysergic acid diethylamide, Amphetamine, Methamphetamines, MDMA, Phencyclidine, GHB, Methaqualone, Inhalants and any other drugs and substances mentioned in The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Act 1985.
1. The possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse are prohibited on premises owned or controlled by Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere.
2.Antiragging squad of Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere will carry out random checks on students/residential premises for substances of abuse.
3. Possession, use and/or distribution of substances of abuse will attract appropriate disciplinary action which may include expulsion.
Offenders will also come under the purview of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 (NDPS Act) and will be liable for penal action.
Disciplinary procedures
A student violating Bapuji Pharmacy College, Davanagere policy on substance abuse will face:
1. Immediate suspension from the college, pending enquiry
2. Parent/legal guardian will be informed immediately and will be expected to meet the Principal at the earliest.
3. The Institutional disciplinary committee will conduct an enquiry and submit the report to Principal who will initiate further action.
Policy Matters on Alcohol & Tobacco
� The college campus is declared as �Alcohol /Tobacco free campus�
� If a student is found possessing/consuming Tobacco/Alcohol in the premises owned or controlled by the college, the Disciplinary Committee (DC) will take appropriate action.
� Brief regulations of AICTE on curbing the menace of ragging in technical educational institutions are dispalyed at the entrance of the college to create awareness among the students community.
